Mange is a skin condition that includes scabies, red mange, ear mite infections and cheyletiella which is caused by mites in mostly dogs and cats. The veterinarian can offer the right advice and provide the correct Mange Medicine for your pet.
If you are dealing with one of the conditions more severe forms, Demodex Mites, Ear Mites or Sacoptic Mites, then you definitely need to consult your veterinarian sooner than later, as these variations can cause your pet to become seriously ill as a result of them. In addition to the previously mentioned forms there are many other kinds of Mites which can pose a threat to your pets – and to livestock as well.
One of the first symptoms that a dog with Scabies will present is a crusting of the skin on the ear. Intense irritation can be caused by the Notoedres Mite and Sarcoptic Mange can also affect humans. With all of the intense itching it is possible for the mites get transferred to humans and cause them to itch as well, however, the symptoms will disappear in a couple of weeks if the pet is disinfected.
It is important to treat these conditions as quickly as possible, as the discomfort can become quite severe. Seepage, scabs or boils may begin to appear as well as balding skin patches. If that happens, the vet will likely have to do a biopsy to check for other types of infections that may have developed.
The vet will need to give the pet periodic injections of Ivermectin for a up to four weeks. Bath your pet with dandruff shampoos and dab the affected area with insecticides recommended by the pet. The steroid cortisone and antibiotic creams would relieve the redness and itching.
A type of mange that is not contagious is the Demodex variation. But many of the symptoms the animal has are the same as the other types of mange. There is the same amount of itching, irritation and discomfort with Demodex, and again, it is urgent to get it treated quickly as once the bald patches of skin begin showing, it is quite possible for the animal to develop a secondary infection.
When a pet has a weakened immune system, he will be more prone to contracting Mange and also slower to recover. But, luckily, in most cases, pets that are healthy and not experiencing any hormonal changes will recover fairly quickly from the condition.
When giving the pet a bath, which is probably going to be recommended by the veterinarian, use Benzoyl peroxide shampoo and afterwards, give him tonics and vitamins that will help boost his immune system.
Be very careful with treatment for your cat with Mange. Cats are much more sensitive to chemicals than are dogs, so it is imperative that you first discuss with your vet any treatments you plan on trying out for your cat.
If you keep your pet healthy, clean with regular baths and administer various vitamins to boost their immunity then you should not have any severe problems with mites. Mange medicine includes homeopathy as well as allopath so consult the vet if you feel your pet is suffering from any kind of Mange disease.
If your dog has mange and needs a remedy or medicine to help, you should find a mange spray. There are tons of mange medicine that you can find on the Internet that could help.
A Self Cleaning Cat Litter Box The Ultimate Cat Litter Box
Date: Thursday February 25, 2010Posted in: CATS
Self cleaning cat litter boxes or as they’re labeled as your automatic cat litter boxes furnish you hassle-free cleaning of your cats litter. Due to the fact that self cleaning cat litter boxes have been introduced newly on the market place and therefore are not very well-known to date, one probably won’t find a number of manufacturers or even numerous types for these.
With almost all of the types all you’d probably need to do by hand is to change the actual waste receptacle one time each week (if you’ve got a single average size cat). The actual cats waste will be automatically raked into a sealable container 10 minutes following he/she has ceased using it.
As well as this, it immediately stops the cleaning rake if something touches it even a little. These kinds of 2 capabilities make certain that simply no harm is actually done to your cat and / or any one else. Whilst you probably would guess, self cleaning cat litter boxes will be priced higher than standard trays.
If you’re looking at purchasing a self cleaning cat litter box, keep in mind one thing – you could possibly face difficulty in training your cat to use it. The majority of cat owners that have used self cleaning boxes tend to be very happy with them. A certain amount of owners nonetheless, find that their cats simply just can’t get on them. Listed here is a step-by-step guide that can be handy to you in doing so:
1) Cats like to go to the toilet in privacy and for this reason position the actual box in a very quiet area.
2) There is no need to make your cat go to the toilet. Simply get him/her in there and praise, to ensure he/she will be encouraged to do this always.
3) Don’t forget to not ever get irritated at the cat and have patience during the process. If your cat goes to the toilet and also does not make use of the actual litter box, you could pick up the excrement and place it in to the litter box. You may have to do this for the initial couple of days and gradually your cat will learn.
Virtually all models have a dual operating power method that is they can be plugged in to an wall socket as well as operated by batteries. Self cleaning cat litter boxes usually are not super quiet and sometime can be required to get accustomed to them.

The litter that you purchase should be safe for your feline to use. The vet needs to see her in order to make sure she gets the right medications that can help her eliminate this problem. UTI occurs often with males and rarely with females. Your cat can die from a UTI if your cat does not get looked at by a vet.
Another bad health problem that cats can get is feline leukemia. This is the most common cause of cancer and may harm your cat’s immune system. It can cause the death of your furball at home. If you are looking for ragdoll kittens for sale, check with Cat Breeder clubs. This breed was created in the 1960’s so it’s a very young breed. It is a cross between Persian, Birman and Burmese and they are gorgeous. They are pointed cats like a Siamese. The kittens are born white and develop their color based on the breeding pattern. There are three pattern types and four colors for a true Ragdoll.
‘Colorpoint’, ‘mitted’ and ‘bi-color’ are the three acceptable patterns. The points include the ears, tail, face and feet. Dark brown points and a light tan body would be the ‘colorpoint’. Dark brown points and a lighter body with white paws, feet, stomach, chin and ruff are the ‘mitted’. The ‘bi-colors’ have an inverted v-shape on their face making them look like they have on a Zorro mask. Only their ears and tail have the darker color, the rest of the body is white except for a colored pattern resembling a saddle on their back.
There are four color categories: seal, chocolate, blue and lilac. The seals have the dark brown points with a light tan body, similar to the Siamese. The chocolates have milk chocolate points and ivory bodies. The blues have dark gray points and a pale gray colored body. The lilacs have pinkish gray points and a wintry white body.
These kittens will grow up to be very large, adult males reach 20 pounds or more and the females are about 5 pounds less. They have beautiful blue eyes and large rounded ears. They project an elegant and balanced attitude.
They are affectionate and laid back. They tend to need interaction with humans. They have been known to greet their owners at the door and can be taken for walks outside in a harness. They do not have the instinct to defend themselves so they cannot be an outside cat. They learn quickly and adjust well to other animals.
They have fur like a rabbit, soft, silky and very plush. They need minimal grooming. But they love attention so grooming will not be a problem for them. When you pick a Ragdoll up they will go limp so just place them on their backs and do with them what you will.
The Ragdoll Fanciers’ Club International was formed to promote the breed and set some guidelines for breeder. They must never be crossbred if you intend to show them. This breed also has its own Newsletter to update cat fanciers worldwide. Cat breeders will definitely want to pay attention to advertisements stating ‘Ragdoll kittens for sale’.

Pet Door Flap Replacements – What I Hate About Them
Date: Monday February 22, 2010Posted in: PET CATS
I am a total animal lover, and have three gorgeous dogs, trouble is, they always seem to want to use their beloved pet doors.
To help me out from going crazy, I had two of the pet doors installed in our home, making it easy for them to come and go whenever they wanted to.
The trouble is though that it seems that the doors just keep on breaking every 4-6 months what with all the hard use they get. So what do I do? I have to go out and buy pet door replacement flaps for them. Oh yes.
So I end up going down to the pet store to buy new flaps. Ironically he knows me by first name now as I’m down there all the time, spending a small fortune of my three dogs..
When I get in the store, Jim who owns it knows exactly what I am looking for, trying not to laugh about it. I’d laugh too if it wasn’t so heart breaking and frustrating. So much for my dogs loving chasing butterflies.
Anyway, $40 lighter and I walk out with two replacement flaps for my dog doors. I just wish I didn’t have to do this so often.
The main thing that annoys me is that these flaps just wear out far too quick. I find that the hinges go too easily, especially with heavy use.
Sometimes my dogs enjoy a good old chew on the flap itself.
As these flaps wear down, the cold air comes in, and the flap starts to fail. This leaves me with a flap that goes bang in the night – not very amusing I can tell you!
We once tried switching to magnetic flaps, but found that once they wear (the cheap ones anyway), the noise they make when they rattle is far louder and more annoying,
Our dogs hate it when the cold comes in, and most of the time we have to let the dogs come into our room at night to keep out of the draft.
On a few occasions we have even had the neighbors dog come in through the flap and proceed to mark his proposed territory. Now that really isn’t funny, let me tell you!
So, until recently, I’d say that we’ve been living in a stressful environment, just getting along with for the sake of getting along with it.
Recently we started to look at better brands, and go for slightly more expensive models, but ones that had much highly specifications.
This has actually proven to be a real inspiration for us and we recommend that you also choose the very best you can afford, from a well established brand.
Woah! Don’t buy cheap and poor quality pet door replacement flaps any more. It’s vital that you find out which are the best and how much time and energy they can save you. It’s your purse, so make it smile by picking the best pet door replacement flaps.
